Who we are and what we do:

Cinoma’s writing journey started with writing novels when she was 5 years old, finally publishing a short story in How I Learned to Speak Dog and Other Animal Stories (Douglas & McIntyre, 1997). She went on to write a novel while commissioning an antipollution plant in Peru (she’s also an environmental scientist and engineer), made a couple of short films, and then started writing screenplays. After Hollywood (and a couple of guys) broke her heart, she went back to her first love – the novel. Especially sci-fi, fantasy, near-future dystopia, and adventure-thrillers with environmental themes. Oh, and environmental science.

In between working on protection measures for endangered species and threatened ecosystems, she published her first novel in 2024: A Grrrl Dogz Guide to Surviving Humanity, the first book in a trilogy called The Coda Series. The book was inspired by her own life blowing up where she lost everything – a marriage, her home, her career, everything except Stella, who stuck by her no matter what. Not that Stella has a choice, being a dog. But Stella found a way to have her opinions heard, by her human at least, and between that and some road trips and wilderness adventures, The Coda Series was born.

Cinoma also published the memoir-ish, self-help book Fleeced: How I Got Flocked by Love & the Law. While self-help isn’t really her thing, Cinoma wanted to share what happened to her after she fell in love again – when she was lost and vulnerable and became a victim of love & law gone wrong. She shares what she learned about how family law really works, and how avoid all the suffering by writing a darn good cohab agreement, in the hopes that it helps someone avoid her fate.

But never fear! Aside from developing a slightly worrisome wine and chips habit, she’s okay now, and busy working on Book 2 of The Code Series: A Grrrl Dogz Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse, coming soon!
